RCM is NOT just for aircraft!

(Video Transcript)

Hi everyone. I’m flying today and whenever I fly, I always think about Reliability Centered Maintenance because RCM principles first emerged in the commercial airline industry.

Now because of that, even still today, a lot of people think that Reliability Centered Maintenance is just for aircraft. But that just isn’t true!

In fact, in the first pages of Nowlan and Heap’s book, they make it clear that one of the reasons why they wrote the book was because RCM principles are so robust that they can be – and should be – applied to any kind of equipment.

So, there you have it. If you thought that Reliability Centered Maintenance was just for airplanes, now you know that, that just isn’t true.

I’m Nancy Regan. Thank you for watching.
